Let's discuss all Opel 3D models by 3DModels.org here. All models feature accurate exterior proportions, clean topology and support all major 3D software. Available in 30+ formats with options for custom interiors, print-ready STL, low-poly versions, and more. Who's using these models in their projects? Any questions about specific models?
I've been using the Opel Olympia (OL38) 1938 model for a historical documentary project. The attention to detail is incredible! Had to do some minor tweaking on the chrome materials to get the period-correct look I needed, but the base model saved me weeks of work.
I also ordered the Clipart Images package to get some transparent PNG renders for our promotional materials. Really professional quality shots from multiple angles - saved me from having to set up and render my own scenes for the marketing department.
Has anyone else worked with the historical models? I'm thinking about getting the Opel Blitz Flatbed Truck 1940 next.
Finished recently a major architectural visualization project using the Opel Crossland 2024 model.
The polygon count was perfect for my needs - detailed enough for close-ups but not so heavy that it slowed down my scene. The UV mapping was particularly well done which made it easy to apply custom materials.
Highly recommend for anyone doing architectural work where you need realistic vehicles in your environments.
Question - what rendering engines are the materials optimized for? I'm working with the Opel Astra K 2019 model and wondering about compatibility.
@forgeni Our models come with materials pre-configured for Arnold, Corona, Maxwell, Mental Ray, and V-Ray (.max). If you need materials for a different renderer or PBR textures, we can prepare those for you upon request. Just let us know what you need!
Was trying to convert the Opel Calibra model for a racing game and accidentally scaled it wrong. My players were driving around in a giant car crushing everything! Fixed now but it was pretty hilarious.
The low-poly option for these models is excellent for game development. I went with the 3-5k poly count for background vehicles and 25-30k for hero cars. Using several Opel models in our open-world game, and they perform great even with multiple instances. Optimization didn't sacrifice recognizability at all. Just needed to add my own textures since they come geometry-only, but that actually worked better for our art style. Got the optimized models in just 3 days too!
Has anyone purchased the STL version for 3D printing? I'm considering getting the Opel Manta (B) 1975 model for a scale model project. That 900€ price tag is significant, so I want to make sure it's worth it. Wondering about the wall thickness and whether it's properly manifold for printing.
@mliscabiz I ordered the print-ready STL for the Opel Kadett City 1975 last month. Absolutely worth it! The STL was perfectly manifold and printed without issues on my Prusa. I scaled it down to 1:24 and it retained all the important details. The separate parts made painting much easier too. And bonus - they include the regular rendering-ready model as well, which I used to create promo images for my Etsy store. They delivered it in just 3 days after ordering.
@volodymyr Quick question - I need animated parts for the Opel Corsa (E) with HQ interior. Looking to do a cutaway view with opening doors for a client presentation next week. Is this something you offer?
