Peugeot 3D Models Library & Support

Greetings everyone,

This thread is for technical discussions on the Peugeot 3D model collection.

If you’ve used these models, share how they perform in your software of choice. Discuss rendering times, compatibility, and any modifications or optimizations you've made.

If you have questions about file formats, polygon counts, conversion options, or other related topics, they can be addressed here.

Just wrapped up a racing game project where we used several of the Peugeot models. We went with the middle poly option (25-30k) for most cars, but kept the 205 GTI at standard poly count as it was featured prominently.

The separation of parts made it really easy to set up damage states and customize materials. Would definitely recommend for anyone in game dev - the model structure is clean and well-organized.

Has anyone tried the low poly option (3-5k) for mobile development? Wondering how the detail holds up.

Been using the Peugeot 3008 GT Line in a couple of architectural visualization projects where the client wanted specific vehicles in the driveway. Really impressed with the level of detail - doesn't feel out of place even in close-up renders. The separated objects make it super easy to adjust materials to match the scene lighting.

One question though - has anyone converted the 3008 to STEP format for use in Solidworks? Considering ordering the conversion service but wondering about the results before pulling the trigger.

@an-d, I had the 5008 model converted to STEP last month for a client project. The conversion quality was excellent, though be prepared for some hefty file sizes. In my case it was around 230MB because of the complex geometry. Worth every penny though, as trying to rebuild something like that from scratch would be insanely time-consuming.

Personally, I've been using the models in a few TV commercial projects. The pre-configured V-Ray materials are a huge time-saver. Recently used the 208 GT-Line for a commercial and the client was impressed with how accurate it looked compared to their actual vehicle.

@an-d, I've been using the 3008 model in Corona with great results too. The external materials convert perfectly to Corona.

One tip that's saved me tons of time: grab the UV-mapping service if you need to add custom branding or decals to the vehicles. Did this for a corporate client who wanted their fleet visualization with company branding, and it was so much easier than trying to map it myself.

Has anyone worked with these models in Blender? I'm considering the Peugeot 504 sedan for a retro-themed project. Would love to know how the .blend files perform and if there are any gotchas when using them in Cycles.

@tyleradunk, I've used the low poly versions for a VR showroom project. The 3-5k models actually hold up surprisingly well for that purpose. Obviously you lose some detail in the interior and smaller elements, but for a mobile VR experience where performance is critical, they're perfect.

@MliscaBiz - The blend files work great in my experience. Used the 2008 GT model in Cycles with minimal tweaking needed. The materials come through cleanly, though I did rework some of the roughness values to match my lighting setup.

Just picked up the 208 5-door model for a client project. First time using 3DModels.org and I'm really impressed with the model organization. The fact that all main parts are separated makes texture work so much more efficient.

One question for the team: I notice some of the newer models have detailed interiors available as an add-on. Are there plans to create interiors for some of the classic models like the 205 or 404?

@martindef, Thanks for the feedback! We do have plans to expand our interior options to more of the classic models. The 205 GTI is actually next on our list for interior development, should be available within the next month or so.

@MliscaBiz, All our .blend files are optimized for the latest Blender versions. We test them before release.

Glad to see so many different use cases here! If anyone has specific format needs that aren't listed on the product pages, remember we can convert to additional formats upon request.
