I'm finally getting serious about optimizing my Blender workflow and looking to invest in some quality add-ons. I've been researching options but would love to hear from other artists about what tools actually make a difference in your daily work.

What add-ons have you found most valuable? I'm especially interested in tools for texturing and hard surface modeling, but open to any recommendations that significantly improve efficiency!

I've been using Blender professionally for years, and these are the game-changers in my workflow:

Simple Tabs - Free add-on that reorganizes your N-panel. Lets you rename tabs to save space and rearrange their order. When you have lots of add-ons installed, this becomes essential.

Photographer - Amazing for camera presets, light control, and visual effects. Just upgraded to version 5 and it's even better. Especially helpful if you come from a photography background.

Starlight & Atmosphere - Gives you incredible control over sky and sun effects. Creates beautiful atmospheres with minimal setup time.

Easy HDRI - The best tool I've found for quickly loading and organizing HDRIs. Simple functionality but executed perfectly.

Honestly, these have transformed my rendering workflow completely.

Easy HDRI is the first thing I install on any new Blender setup. Absolute necessity!

LOL is it just me or do half these add-ons just have "Easy" in the name? 😂

Easy HDRI
Easy Export
Easy Assets
Easy Lighting

Developers meeting: "What should we call our new add-on?"
"Just put 'Easy' in front of whatever it does and charge $30"

As someone who's still on the donut tutorial phase, I'm bookmarking this thread for future reference! Thanks for sharing everyone!

Here are my essentials:

Easy HDRI - Already mentioned but worth repeating

Atomic Data Manager - Incredibly useful for removing unused data, especially when working with high-res textures and complex particle systems

Node Wrangler - Essential for setting up procedural materials

Botaniq, G-scatter, Biome Reader - This combination is incredible for environmental renders. If you do outdoor scenes, these are absolutely worth the investment.

I've also seen some interesting add-on bundles on 3DModels.org lately - might be worth checking out.

My daily drivers:

Hard Ops / Box Cutter - Revolutionary for hard surface modeling. Creates a much more intuitive workflow for boolean operations.

Quad Remesher - Game-changing for automatic retopology. Creates surprisingly clean topology with your specified poly count.

Fluent Materializer - Great alternative to Substance Painter if you want to keep everything in Blender. The node groups and masking system make texturing much faster.

Decal Machine - Amazing for applying decals and trim sheets to your models. The workflow is incredibly smooth - select, position, project, done.

Auto-Rig Pro - Professional-level rigging made accessible. Saves incredible amounts of time.

Fluent Power Trip - Pairs perfectly with Materializer for more advanced texturing.

Grid Modeler - Don't be fooled by the generic name, it's excellent for precision work.

Handyweights - Makes weight painting actually bearable.

Clean Panels is essential when you have multiple add-ons installed. Keeps everything organized so you don't waste time hunting through menus.

Photographer has completely changed how I handle lighting and cameras. It translates Blender's render settings into more photographer-friendly language, which makes the whole process much more intuitive if you come from that background.
