Cool 😉
Turns out realy nice.
Hi all.
The final image is now rendering and I thought I would drop a bunch of progress images.
There is a huge amount of detail in this scene and the car is a beaut. Its been a fun one.
The next stage of fun will be the compositing. Labour of love.
Hope your all doing well and the concepts are well underway by now.
Good luck.
Here is a full suite of 3D tools used in this one.
Vray 6.
3Dsmax 2025
Chaos Scatter.
Chaos Cosmos. (People and vegitation only. Hay strands were modelled.)
Vray Volumetric Fog.
Vray Hair and Furr for the hay bales
TYflow for flags, leaves and other elements.
Chaos Phoenix for the smoke off the line and braking.
At times I ran into some memory problems and actually hit 64gb of RAM use when test rendering with all of the above on. This was down to the Vray Hair and Furr using a huge amount of memory so I got selective with what can be see and what is out of focus. The same thing goes with the Vray displacement. Making clean maps and layering bitmaps with procedural noises really helped fake the details.
Over years of running these tools you tend to get a sense of what is causing the crashes or the hangs, so hope the above helps a little. 9 times out of 10 its user error. Always learning.
It seems that you have added quite a bit of vegetation and surroundings. In my opinion, your car screams for more dynamics. 😉
Hopefully the final shot will see some improvements. Made a good few improvements and a colour change. Got to get those details popping. This week will see the post production. Nearly there.
This was really the winner? The car itself has a lot of modeling problems. A LOT!
And the car shading is pretty bad.
When is the next competition?
I will participate.
