Need some help! My school Chromebook won't let me install Blender (admin restrictions), but I really want to practice 3D modeling during breaks. Looking for something that works in the browser - mainly interested in polygon modeling with modifiers, not sculpting. Any suggestions? Free options preferred!

Few options to consider:

- Spline (modern, good for basic modeling)
- TinkerCAD (more CAD oriented, but works)
- Figuro (newer option)

Just be sure to check their terms - some require public sharing of models.

Have you had a look at Blender Portable on a USB flash drive? That way you can run it without installing. You just need access to another computer to set it up.

Frankly, browser-based tools are very limited. You might want to consider getting a cheap used laptop instead. Even a $400 laptop with Ryzen can run Blender decently these days. Much better than struggling with browser limitations.

A quick warning about browser-based tools - make sure you can actually export your work into formats you can use later. I had a friend lose weeks of work because the platform only exported to their proprietary format.

There used to be some cloud options like Nimble, but they're all enterprise-focused now. OffDocs has Blender 2.8 running in the browser, but it's super slow and laggy. Better to wait until you can get decent hardware.

Thanks everyone! Tried spline and it actually works pretty well for basic stuff. The USB suggestion is cool, but school blocks those too 😭
